About Nerve Stimulation
Peripheral nerve field stimulation is an innovative procedure that uses mild electrical pulses to prevent pain signals from reaching the nerves. It is commonly used to treat small nerve fibers located in the subcutaneous tissue. Generally, it is reserved for men and women who are suffering from chronic nerve pain that developed as a result of a previous surgery, injury, or medical condition. Unlike other nerve stimulations, this particular procedure is applied directly to the nerves or area of concern. This treatment also involves the use of an external device so that patients can control the level of stimulation. Tricity Pain Associates in Carrollton, Prosper, and McKinney, TX is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care to our local North Dallas community and invite you to call our office to learn more.

Nerve Stimulation Treatment
Prior to any long-term treatment, patients will undergo a week-long trial period to determine if peripheral nerve field stimulation is ideal for their condition. Our overall goal is to provide men and women with adequate relief so they can enjoy daily activities with greater comfort. Once your trial is complete, an appointment will be set for your stimulation implant. This process involves the use of electrical leads that are inserted under the skin in the target area and connected to an impulse generator. On the day of your surgery, the generator is secured in the subcutaneous tissue and can be controlled via a hand-held remote. Many patients experience significant improvement and are very happy with their results.
