About PRP Therapy
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a natural alternative to prescription drugs or anti-inflammatory medications. It has been used in the medical field for many years to help promote the natural healing and cell regeneration process after an injury, like a strained muscle, torn ligament, or joint pain. Our blood consists of several components, including plasma, which consists of platelets and nutrient-rich proteins. When the plasma is separated from the rest of the elements that make up our blood, it can be injected into specific areas of the body that are injured. PRP therapy is a historic treatment that has proven effective time and time again for men and women recovering from a surgical wound or trauma. It is also safe for almost all patients because it derives from their own blood supply. Tricity Pain Associates is honored to be serving the Greater Dallas, TX communities of Carrollton, Prosper, and McKinney with innovative care and invite you to call our practice to learn more.

PRP therapy is performed on-site in one of our private treatment rooms and only takes a few minutes to complete. At the start of your procedure, you will be seated comfortably as a small portion of blood is drawn from your arm. The sample is then placed in a specialized machine that separates the different components of the blood. When the plasma is ready, it will be placed in a sterile syringe and injected into the designated areas. The platelet-rich plasma will help stimulate the natural cell regeneration process, and many patients experience positive results with shorter recovery periods and less pain.
