About Spinal Cord Stimulation
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a treatment that uses electrical pulses and a small implant to alleviate nerve pain in the spinal column. This type of therapy is often reserved for men and women who are experiencing ongoing nerve pain that cannot be relieved with conventional treatments, such as pain medication or nerve blocks. It is also recommended for those who wish to avoid an invasive procedure, like back surgery. Our team of medical specialists at Tricity Pain Associates in North Dallas is dedicated to providing customized, state-of-the-art care to each of our patients. Prior to any long-term therapy, a one-week trial will be conducted to ensure spinal cord stimulation is the best option for you. Call our office in Carrollton, Prosper, or McKinney to meet with our team today to learn more about SCS.

Spinal Stimulation Treatment
Once your trial is complete, you will return to our office for the long-term placement of your spinal cord stimulation implant. The SCS system is made up of three main components: the electrical generator, lead wire, and external remote. The placement of this system is accomplished with the use of a live x-ray machine. Once the small pulse generator is placed and the lead wires are secured along the spine, it will be tested and a handheld remote will be provided to enable control of the device. Spinal cord stimulation is considered an outpatient procedure, which means patients will be free to return home after their surgery.
